Never enough pink

Just a few shots of the outfit I made Savannah. I  bought a couple patterns from Hobby Lobby for 1$ each and tweaked them a little bit. It turned out pretty cute.  The pics aren't very good thanks to the iPhone.  I really need to stay away from the hot pink and give it a break ;)

Art show

The Katy Independent School District puts on an annual art show.  All the schools participate. Each school has an art teacher who can choose 2 kids from each grade to show their art.  McKay was chosen along with another student to represent the 3rd graders at McRoberts school!

San Jacinto Festival

We had a fun day attending the San Jacinto Festival.  Every year many volunteers reenact the battle that actually took place on these very grounds.  Fast riding horses, shooting guns and loud canons were an exciting thing to witness.  I was glad to have learned about this battle that is important to Texas history.

The kids enjoyed petting the small farm animals.  I forgot to snap a picture of Madison holding a small white baby goat.  She held it for a good 20 minutes and was in heaven.

After the battle several people came up to the actors and asked about their clothing and weapons.  Grandpa Bill loves the attention.

They were so proud of their Grandpa Bill. He is a great historian.

18 months old

Savannah is 18 months old!  My friend took these at Cinco Ranch.

Whenever we get ready to run an errand, I will be headed out the door.  She will not follow me unless Trent is at her side. If he is not there, she will go get him and lead him to the door.

Savannah is a picky eater!  The first for me.  She will not eat any fruits and very few vegetables.  Drives me crazy!!  Thank goodness she likes smoothies and V8.

Every morning she wakes up around 5:00 and gets into bed with me. She has to have "boo" with her.  (She refers to everything as boo.)  At 5:00 am "boo"  is her pillow, blanket, and doll that need to be in bed with us for her to go back to sleep.

It is so fun to see her try to copy her brothers and sisters when they say or do funny things.

Savannah loves to go on walks or go play outside.  She will often go get her shoes and say "a wok."

Savannah and I get to have snuggle time every day after she wakes up from her nap. We get her blanket and sit on the couch for five minutes and just hold each other.

Fiery Darts

A couple weeks ago we had a family home evening lesson on wearing the Armor of God. We also talked about Satan's fiery darts and what they may be for the children at this point in their lives.

Today Madison wrote this note to Trenton during sacrament meeting.  Hilarious!  I guess they do listen and some of it really does sink in ;)

Dear Trenton Hoffmann
I know that you're trying to be reverent at church, but sometimes Satan shoots fiery darts at you. But most of the time at church you are good.

Alex's 5K

My friend( Belin Jenkins) and I ran Bear Creek Alex's 5K.  It was a fun little race with a BBQ after.  Alex is a young man who died with autism,  his parents do this race in honor of him every year. I have a few friends with children who have autism.  A cure would be a huge blessing.   All proceeds go to research for autism.

 It is sad for me that my running days are slowing down.  After 20 years of running my knees are paying the price.  Glucosamine helps a little, but I just have to take it easy and run 1-2 times a week.  I have always loved to run.  There is nothing like hitting the pavement with your iPod for some "me" time.  It was a fun afternoon with a good buddy!

Texas Bluebonnets

We have finally been able to see the breathtaking bluebonnets here in Texas.  I think they are one of my favorite flowers now!  They grow everywhere, even on the sides of the freeways. Sometimes you will see a whole field of them! Here are some pictures of Madison and Savannah with the flowers before  church.
