Back Home in Texas
Chris went home to Houston to spend time with his parents and brothers.

The proud Momma who raised these awesome men.
Steve, Trey and Chris
Steve (Chris' oldest brother) seriously knows his BBQ. He smoked Texas brisket and ribs. Chris was in heaven, and I was insanely jealous.

Cravings
I have become the smoothie queen! My body ( and the little creation within me) is always craving a cold, fruity smoothie. Back in my college days I used to work for Jamba Juice, and it was a fun job. It was in Provo and was always hoppin. I can still remember some of the recipes of many favorites. I thought I would share a couple of my creations that are pretty darn good.
Chocolate banana protein smoothie
1 C lowfat milk
1/2 frozen banana
1 T peanut butter
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 C ice
It is always best to use frozen bananas, it makes the consistency of your smoothies creamier in my opinion. I like this protein powder you can buy at WalMart or Target. Costco has a really great powder as well.

Banana berry smoothie
1 C lowfat milk
1/2 frozen banana
3 strawberries
1/3 C blueberries
1/2 C vanilla yogurt
agave nectar to taste
1 C ice
I also love the Green Machine and you can find that recipe on my blog in the November postings. If you ever want to add a little fiber to your smoothies, you can add some wheat germ. I little bit of flax seed meal is an excellent addition too. I think smoothies are a guilt free meal that is good for you and full of many nutrients, so drink up!

Easter Break Utah Style
What a great way to start easter break: Snow! Seriously? Can we just have some nice, warm spring weather already? Sheesh!
We built a snowman and used our new snowman kit. Isn't he cute?
After all of our hard work we found some clean, fresh snow and made snow cones! The kids just love these!
The next day we tried out bowling. Madison was about done after her 6th turn. I continued the game for her. I am not very good at bowling, I'm so bad that I scored for the family team next to us. I went to roll my ball and it wouldn't come off my hand till it was above my head. It flew into the next lane and I knocked the rest of their pins down for them! I apologized, but could tell they were ticked. I felt pretty stupid.
McKay really enjoyed the game. He is competitive just like his dad. Here's another funny one for ya: Trent tried to pick up a ball while Chris was assisting McKay with a few pointers. Trent dropped the ball and it rolled two lanes over. Chris ran to get it into the lane and slipped and fell on him bum into the gutter. I'm sure the neighboring teams were anxious for us to leave.
These yogurt parfaits that were part of our easter breakfast looked so pretty, I had to take a pic.
After the 3rd session of GC the kids finally were able to participate in the much anticipated Easter egg hunt. Trent loved it!
McKay was a little to good at it. Shouldn't there be leaves on that tree?
Isn't is great that we had to wear coats on Easter Sunday? It snowed overnight, but by noon it was gone. Thank goodness. Enough with the snow!
