Ode to My Dust Buster

Hand-held vacuum, I love you so
The way you clean messes to and fro

You came into my life one Christmas morn
My Walmart purchase, where you were born

Six times a day you come off my wall
To pick up my kids crumbs, from the mouths they fall

I’d keep you on my belt loop if I could
We’d stick together like a nail in wood

Sometimes I think it's pointless to put you back,
Surely in three minutes, there will be another splat

Together we visit the bathroom and kitchen floors
And make sure there are specks, dirt and hair no more

Thank you for keeping my house so very neat
And for tidying up all that we did not eat

Black & Decker Dust Buster is the name you bear
This ode's to you.........for always being there

This one's for grandma and grandpa.....

These pictures make me smile, and I thought the grandma's and grandpa's would appreciate them. I love having a blog for journaling, and for keeping our families in CA, and TX updated and in close touch.
The kids wanted to have a picnic in the backyard when it was warm a couple weeks ago. They love having a couple scoops of peanut butter as a snack. Trent received his immunizations and wasn't feeling the greatest for a couple days. I just put him on the couch to rest so he could be with the family. Snug as a bug on a couch?
After a trip to Costco, we take all the wipes and diapers out to get organized. The kids love to play with the big empty boxes and make castles, or houses out of them.
I don't know why Chris took this picture, but it is a regular scene at our house. We love to go to the library and get new books to read. I love a new, fun story just as much as the kids do.
Someone was either stuck, or having a little fun before sleepy time.

St. George

Family getaway to St. George..... The weather was beautiful, 65-70 degrees. We enjoyed swimming, eating out, concretes at Nielsen's Frozen Custard(this is the best ice cream/frozen custard you will ever eat). They also have locations in Holladay and Bountiful. We enjoyed hiking the red rock at Pioneer Park. However, the highlight of the trip for me was the Visitors Center at the St. George Temple.

Our family loved a new exhibit there called: God's Plan for His Family. The exhibit takes about 20 minutes total. What's cool is you physically move throuch each station of life every 3-5 minutes with the video clips. It keeps the kids' attention while offering a great opportunity for children to learn and feel the spirit. I highly recommend it!

What I've been up to

Here are some of my sewing projects that have kept me busy and not focused on the depressing winter season. BYU pajama bottoms for McKay and a new, fun bag for me! I have my sewing station set up in my basement with our small TV. I go down whenever I have time and sew away while watching a show. If anyone is looking for a new challenge, pajama bottoms are the easiest thing to sew in my opinion. I would be happy to lend my patterns!
