Chocolate Cherry Chip Cake

This is a family favorite in our home. My mom came up with this recipe, and in my opinion it will be the best cake you'll ever eat. It's pretty simple to make as well. Here are the goods:

1 chocolate cake mix
1 lg jar of marciano cherries
1 8 oz container of cool whip
1 small box chocolate pudding
1 1/2 C milk

Drain the cherries and set aside juice for cake mix. Finely chop all the cherries. Make your cake mix according to the directions and add half of the chopped cherries and cherry juice with the water. (If the recipe calls for 1/2 C water, and you have 1/4 C cherry juice, all you need if 1/4 C water.) Bake in three 8 inch cake pans greased and lined with parchment paper. Once baked and cooled, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze overnight. ( Freezing your cakes overnight always makes them more moist.) A few hours before serving, assemble your cake. Make pudding with 1 1/2 C milk, then put in fridge for 10 minutes to obtain a thicker consistency. Layer your cake with pudding in between each layer. Add remaining chopped cherries and one drop of pink food dye to cool whip. Frost entire cake. Chocolate shavings and a cherry on top make a great presentation!

Let's tumble!

Madison performed in her first tumbling recital! It was very exciting. Ages 4- 14 performed tumbling and cheer. I hope that Madison will want to continue in tumbling, it was so neat to see the older girls and all that they could do.

These are her cute, twin friends who we carpooled with every Thursday.

Dragon Award

McKay accomplished his goal in receiving the Dragon Award at his school! They had to complete a list of many goals. Some of those included: good attendance, reading 100 minute a week, seeing a play or other performance, physical fitness, etc. It was a lot of work and took all year. Good work McKay!

A big boy!

After trying 3 times Trent is now potty trained! It is mostly my fault that it took 3 times, I was just being lazy and gave up after half a day. This time we stuck with it, he was so ready. He never liked staying in a poopy diaper, and I would catch him every now and then trying to get on the toilet in our home and others. I think he has the cutest little body, and wearing his big boy underwear makes him even more adorable. After he seemed to have it down, I told him I would take him to buy a toy at Target. He is really into Toy Story, Diego, and Cars. So he picked out this cute racer car with Woody in it. Yeah for Trenton

A new dress

This is the summer dress I made for Madison. I saw this fabric at Material Girls in the fall and thought it would be perfect for the pattern I found at Jo-Annes for a dollar! I'm always a sucker for anything with red or polka dots.
